Farewell (Dear Tracy, Not Loser)

My best friend is leaving tomorrow for her new life in Paris! I'm both excited and nervous for her at the same time. Not many people are capable of picking up and moving to a new place, or a whole new country for that matter. But I think Tracy will be successful at her program, and at achieving her other goals while in France. If there is anyone that is brave, intelligent, and awesome enough at this, it is Tracy. Plus, she makes friends easily and everyone loves her because she's easy to talk to, caring, kind, beautiful and wonderful! The large crowd of friends that showed up Saturday for her Farewell party is just further proof of how great she is.

As much as I would prefer for her to stay on the East Coast (or even in the USA), I know that moving to Paris is something she's been dreaming about for awhile now and I'm just glad to know that she'll finally be able to live it.

So, as sad as I am to say goodbye, Tracy (since you're one of the handful of friends I have that actually read this) I will miss you, but wish you safe travels, good luck, and you better come back with one of your wonderful original novels :) I LOVE YOU!

Summer Food

There are so many reasons why I love summer. The sunny weather, the beach, vacations to new destinations, BBQs, flip flops, fireworks, and parties.

Unfortunately, many of those things (mainly parties and BBQs), are not the most beneficial for weight loss.

I was doing really well with my low-carb dieting & workout plan, until the summer parties, vacations and get-togethers started...

I think it's just a matter of being more aware of portions and what foods are more beneficial, and also regular exercise.

Thus, I won't STARVE myself, but will indulge in healthier things like fruits and veggies in replace of snacks & ice cream. That combined with 1 - 2 hr workouts 3 - 4 times a week should help me get back on track towards looking & feeling better.

Any suggestions on good work outs?
