When You Believe

In this time of fear
When prayer so often proved in vain
Hope seemed like the summer birds
Too swiftly flown away
Yet now I'm standing here
With heart so full, I can't explain
Seeking faith and speaking words
I never thought I'd say...

-- When You Believe, Prince of Egypt Soundtrack

Still trying to stay positive and hopeful. It is all I can do at this point.

Hope

Last Christmas I spent the majority of the day alone in my house wishing I were somewhere else and thinking of how "miserable" my life was because no one seemed to care about me. In retrospect, it was selfish and dramatic.

This Christmas, I was able to spend part of the morning with Jeremy's family. I really do love them. And I lost track of time playing with his cousin's 17 month old son, Zeke - super adorable, super friendly, little boy with tons of energy, an adorable dance and made my heart melt with his laughter, smile and the way he walked after me when I was leaving and waved goodbye to me. The mass at Church this morning was inspirational, as Christmas mass usually is, and made me thankful to be Christian. I spent the rest of the day with some of my relatives, yet we were joined together because of a sad situation..It is times like this when I realize again that I am so blessed to have a wonderful family full of individuals that truly and honestly care for one another. Times like this also put into perspective how short life is and how important it is to appreciate not only items that can be bought and wrapped to be opened on Christmas, but also the people we have in our lives and the relationships that we create with them. After all of the stress, sadness, and grieving that went on today, I am still hoping for the best and a miracle.
